BODYLINE SERIES
It was the notorious bowling technique used by the England bowlers against the Australians in the 1932-33 series. Australians were dominating at that time. Ponsford and Bradman were making records.
To trouble them the English captain D.R Jardine implemented a ‘leg theory’. England bowlers especially Larwood and Voce bowled fast deliveries on the Leg stump with a close semi-circle infield. Many including the Australian captain were injured. Woodland, the Australian captain came with a statement saying that only one team played with spirit. England won the series 4-1.
